For the past 3 weeks, I've had trouble with PP shipping labels.  I pay for the shipping, PP takes my money and goes directly to the page that shows AFTER the label has been printed where you're given…

Tricks of the Online Sellers Trade

I found out some things a few days ago about selling on line that I didn't know.  Most of it is "hinted at" or totally ignored on help pages.  Some of us need it spelled out in words of one syllable.…

Hi, Lilacs. You have a blog? Oh, yes, I remember reading it a few day ago. How do you have time? I have spent the afternoon writing up a whole 10 new listings. Slow work for me. Also posted a question on purse blog.

BLESS YOUR HEART!!!! Actually ...the picture thing was a coincidence...I just happen to try it this morning! That is so funny but thank you for telling me. It took forever to put them on...half the morning! As for the cell phones...I think you and I are out of luck...because soon...there won't be any more of the regular simple to use phones I am afraid. I would like to mention...that I think you are doing GREAT with your one finger! DO NOT let the tremors keep you down! You are amazing and an inspiration...really! : )

I definitely add delivery confirmation and insurance in the shipping. I have disclaimer stuff written stating that the buyer agrees to pay for the item, plus shipping with delivery confirmation fee and insurance for items over $25 and I state that they will be included in the shipping fee.

Hahahahahahahahaha!!! You are soooooooooo funny! : ) Congratulations on the sale!!! I mentioned that I haven't had a sale in weeks on eBay and sometimes it could be months until something sells on RL. Odd though...it goes in spirts. There could be a little flurry of activity...and then nothing. I will have to look into Twitter more...and Facebook really has me baffled. I tried asking some questions to my sons and they too don't understand some of it...or should I say they don't utilize all of it. There are things on there that people do and I have yet to figure that all out. I am a late bloomer to the tech world...and according to my son's...they claim I am "at my technological limit". There is this whole new generation of cell phones now...and when I got my last one I was having problems figuring out all of the features, and that is when they labeled me at my limit. I pray this phone holds out because the new ones are way too complicated!! They have all of those icons instead of words...upon getting a new cell phone, one of my first projects was converting all of the icons to wording instead. Now...you can't do that...and there are all of those icons to decipher.

I forgot to mention that yes...you pay listing fees again each month on all the same items in the store. As they roll over so does the listing fee for each item every month.....and then, it's plus the monthly store fee.

Overall...I think their fees are very high across the board! And they keep making it more difficulat for a seller to make any money with the fee amounts (listing, final value and of course the paypal fees)...and now having to pay to insure the items to avoid a problem with the buyer. They are really making it difficult to keep item prices low and still make any money. There have been times when I actually sold the item for what I paid for it...and other times I have actually lost money. There were weeks when I said to myself..."okay, now which items should I "give away" this week"...LOL

Hi Ilene! I have so much trouble navigating around Facebook...I have not even considered Twitter yet! What is the difference between them actually? And which one is more advantagous for promoting our shops?

Hi Ilene!!

The problem with eBay is that the fees kill you. They are really high. I have the least expensive store as well with all BIN GTC, the only difference there is that you pay the monthly fee which is reasonable, but I've often wondered if doing it your way costs the same. I never bothered to figure it out but listing and final value fees I assume are different and it would be in our best interest to figure that out! They must realize that their fees are ridiculous because they are making changes. They are claiming that auctions beginning at under 99cents are free and over only pennies for the listing fees. I read that somewhere recently. But all mine are BIN but maybe we would do better running some auctions. All sales are at a stand still...I haven't sold anything for weeks and weeks now. I am really upset about it... : (

Hi Ilene!
Thank you so much for your compliment...and so do YOU have some very lovely items in your shops! Sales are slow at this time though...very depressing. I have an eBay store as well. That was doing nicely but again...slow at this time. I know what you mean about throwing things away...I am a pack rat and refuse to do that anymore...too many regrets having done so! : ) I must have sold 20 or more various vintage coffee tin cans from the eBay store and only have a few left that I am willing to sell as the rest I am keeping. As for the coffee percolators...again...I must have had the biggest collection in the world...all different kinds...and most of them are gone also. I had taken quite a few to an outdoor antique and vintage venue...and had crowds of people milling around them and commenting on their unique appeal....but they didn't buy any!! eBay has been pretty good for those and the ones on Ruby Lane or Ruby Plaza are the last that I am willing to sell at this time. I have become not just a collector...but a hoarder...and need to part with some things. I just have a hard time letting go...but how much stuff can we really have??? The living space in my home has been greatly limited by my collecting...LOL
