I haven't done much with ebay lately. I did during christmas time listing items there, and sold most of what I listed. But....when it came time for fees to be paid, what I felt good about with sales was not so good due to all the fees that get paid...listing fees, selling fees, paypal fees, etc. The higher you sell the more you pay. Was a lil depressing as I guess I am spoiled with other venues where there is lil to no cost for selling.

Also, beginning of the year, and here come more changes again. Will it be good or bad with that?

I agree with the fee's. I've been putting most of my items in my store and that helped alot.. have you signed up with bigcrumbs. or ebates? these are great ways of making extra money and for me I buy alot off ebay too so it pays me to shop..these are free to sign up and then you just pass the information on to other friends, family or customers.. It's really easy and helps make extra money.

I hope this helps, I'm not one to post a website unless I think it will be helpful to others who are trying to save money during these hard times..

Changes can hurt or help maybe elsewhere but on ebay most likely they will hurt. I only list 10 or less items a month there 5 free and 5 I pay for. I sell on other venues more than ebay. I gave up my store last year after doing taxes and came to find I did not make a profit. My profit went to all the fees of listing, final fees, store fees and paypal fees. Now as for paypal that is another story. I did do good for the holidays on ebay and am hoping this year I will see a profit. I will continue to list the way I am until there fees become so riducles, then its time to go. I do appreciate the free photo images to me thats a big plus cause the buyer can see more of what I have, I say thank you ebay for a little frill.

LOL! Out of the Attic:) I feel what you are saying. During the holidays I listed with the 5 free, or the sales they ran for 1/2 price. As for the photos...I own so many templates that I had bought over the years thru ebay sellers that I still have those & can use as many pics as I want for the free 1 you are allowed. All in the html, and it works great. But, with all the changes & rules & treatment from ebay they fun/thrill of the selling there is not near what it use to be. Sadly, it just keeps getting worse. I keep the acct there as sometimes I do shop there, but have moved on mostly to other venues, and the bay is just something small/minor for me. Once in a while there is an item that needs to auction instead of selling straight out, but that it about the extent of it too.

Since I sell mostly collectibles, pottery and glass I get the 12 free pics. I try to list everything under those categories cause thats how you get them free. I was using Auctiva but they changed also and you were only allowed x amont of space and then the charge. Now I can't blame them for doing that after all we are all entitled to make money. But for me I gave away so much in the past few years thats it time I get to keep some of it lol

Something else that has helped sales is shipping international.. I know in Australia there seasons are the oppisite of ours, so winter clothing sells there in the summer and another thing is they don't get Care Bears, or Tommy Hilfiger so I've sold alot of those items. The philipians don't get Victoria Secret, the UK likes toy items.. As far as shipping goes Australia is the most expensive I found, but I just look it up on the USPS site for a quote, alot of the people are willing to pay the high shipping on an item..

I sell many items to australia. The last purchase was for 5 Franklin porcelian dolls Lately, buyers have wanted items for nothing. They offer low prices and insult my store. I reject their offers. Some of the buyers want to dictate how I should run the store, that is how Home depot does it. It is anoying to me. I reviewed my polices and they fit eBay polices.

Isn't it funny how people expect you to let them run your business? I had a buyer who said for me not to charge them for insurance cause of the new ebay rules. Well I don't charge the buyer for insurance cause the insurance isn't for them but me. I pay not the customer. Yes there will always be bosses and lo-bidders which want everything for almost nothing. But we go on and thats why the other venues or your own website. :)

Oh how true. I use to get that with my store downtown I had. People always wanting to tell you what to do, but yet they know nothing. Like I had told a customer once...I have this cost, I have this expense, I have this over head, etc etc. Now...I have to make something in order to operate & restock the shelves too. Well....they hadn't thought of things that way. I didn't say it to them, but I wanted to say that I why I am here doing this, and you are the customer:) Always someone who knows it all, or knows it better....thinks they do anyway:)
